When to book Goechala Trek?

You should book Goechala Trekin two months in advance so that you get ample amount of time to prepare well for the trek.

Who will carry my backpack?

Trek in the Himalayas is a team game so we expect you to carry your own backpack and you trek in the Himalayas it’s advisable that you always trek with your backpack because in case of fall backpack acts as a cushion to your spine. In special case arrangement can be made on extra payment to carry your backpack which is Rs 250 per bag per day.

What will be the weight of the backpack?

Once you book your trek with us we will give you a list of things to carry and the total weight should not cross 8 Kgs.

Where to meet you?

Our pick up and drop point for Goechala trek is NJP railway stations. We pick you up at around 10:00 am at the start of the trek in the Himalayas and drop you at 5:00 pm after the trek in the Himalayas.

How we run the trek?

We always have a trek leader and local guide who leads the trek from the front and other becomes a tail, who treks always in the last. Also we have full support team of cook, helpers, porters who take care of camp.

What is the batch size?

Our group size is limited to 15 trekkers per batch comprising of men and women.

What is minimum age required for Goechala Trek?

Goechala trek is a moderate to challenging trek with a maximum altitude of 16000ft (4900m) minimum age required is 14 years.

What will be the minimum temperature during Goechala Trek?

In the month of October the temperature during the trek can go as low as 0 Degree Celsius during the night.

How long we trek during Goechala Trek?

We plan our treks in such a way that after 6 – 7 hours of trekking we reach next camp around lunch time and normally trek a distance of 7 to 10 Kms.

Can I take the Diamox?

Diamox is very helpful when you have little time for acclimatization but we strongly advise to consult the doctor before taking Diamox.12.

Is it safe for girls to go on a trek?

Safety is prime important for us and we ourselves lead our groups and do give it to third party to manage. It’s absolute safe for even a single girl trekker to join our fixed departures.

What kind of shoes will be required?

Good trekking shoes with ankle support are must for any trek in the Himalayas. Quechua Forlclaz 500 is good shoes with value for money.

What kind of food is served during the trek?

We serve nutritious simple vegetarian food during the trek. We maintain variety in lentils, Vegetable and breakfast. At times we also treat our trekkers in the Himalayas with delicacies like Pakora, local dishes etc.

Is it safe to drink water from the stream?

Himalayan stream water is safe to drink and cooking but we also have water filters, Chorine tablets just in case we require them.

Which vehicle do we use for transportation?

Most of the Himalayan road to the trek starting point are bad in shape so vehicle with high ground clearance are advisable so we use Mahindra Bolero, Tata Sumo, Scorpio, Max or similar for the transportation.

How to get safe drinking water on the trek ?

We use natural Himalayan spring water and it is consider safe and clean.

What type of vehicles are used for transportation ?

Are your fixed departures dates are fixed?

We guarantee that even if that there will one trekker we will go on that date.

How do you deal with emergency situation?

Our trek leaders are certified mountaineers with knowledge of first aid in wilderness and they carry necessary first aid medicine kit. At each camp they asses your condition and can take necessary action in case a rescue is required. In case of rescue all the additional cost will be borne by the trekker.
